"One on One" with LJ Rose
 By: James Mulcahy LJ Rose is one of the top players in the class of 2012 and this Lone Star state standout took some time out of his busy summer to talk to Hoopsreport and give us some insight into what's going on is his life in this edition of "One on One".
Hoopsreport: LJ, you are entering your junior season at Second Baptist School, tell us what your expectations are for your team this year and what are some of your personal goals? LJ Rose: I just expect my team to work hard and win. That all starts with the pg so the first day of practice I've got to set the tone for the rest of the year.
HR: Being one of the top players in the country how do you deal with all the expectations and pressure that comes with that ranking? LJ: I'm pretty much used to it. It just teaches you to always compete and always go hard because you never know who is watching.
HR: What schools have you visited and what are some of the other schools you want to visit before making a final decision? LJ: I've only been to Texas but other than that I dont know, I haven't really decided yet.
HR: Everybody wants to know who's recruiting you so give us a list of schools that are recruiting you at the moment? LJ: Right now it's literally wide open, I'm just trying to enjoy the whole process.
HR: Out of all the coaches recruiting you is there a certain coach that stands out to you that you really feel can take your game to the next level? LJ: I have built a pretty good relationship with all the coaches I have talked to and gotten to know.
HR: You are just finishing up a busy summer with your Houston Hoops team, tell us what the highlight of you summer has been so far. LJ: Probably how well we competed at nationals towards the end of the summer, even though we were short handed we still competed hard.
HR: During college basketball season what school do you pull for? LJ: Probably all the Texas schools.
HR: What player(s) would you compare your game to? LJ: Steve Nash and Chris Paul
HR: Who is the best player you've ever played against? LJ: John Wall, TJ Ford, Damon Stoudemire, John Lucas III
HR: Who is your favorite NBA player and team? LJ: Paul Pierce and the Lakers
HR: What are gonna be some of the main factors you consider when it comes time to choose a college? LJ: Pretty much where I would wanna go play and also live, a good atmosphere and fan support is key.
HR: Who is the biggest role model in your life and why? LJ: My parents because they are always there for me and also give me the best advice.
HR: Is there anything else you want your fans out there to know about LJ Rose? LJ: I'm just a laid back funny guy
