Shabazz makes decision

By: Jeff Meadows

With there being so much anticipation and speculation on where the country's #1 player in 6'6 (CG) Shabazz Muhammad would end up and most of us in the national basketball community was somewhat stunned today when Shabazz announced that he was signing with the UCLA Bruins. With Shabazz's final list having UCLA and Kentucky on it, most of us assumed that coach John Calipari would continue to snag the nation's top player like he's done for the past 3 year's but coach Ben Holland had other plans. "Most of us were stunned by Shabazz's decision" said national scout Patrick Stanwood "I guess we just assumed that he'd sign with coach Calipari due to all of the success that Kentucky's had over the past 3 years with landing the top recruit". Shabazz will be joining a team that had some what of a dismal 2011-2012 season, missing the NCAA tournament this past season. Will Shabazz be enough to get UCLA back to dominance and greatness? I'm not sure but what I can say is that Shabazz is about as good as they come and with some descent pieces around him, he can definitely get UCLA back to respectability and with some quality editions, UCLA will DEFINITELY BE BACK TO DOMINANCE AND GREATNESS even if it's for just one  season.
