News » Hoops NewsPilgrim and Kentucky close to tying the knot By: James Mulcahy We have received word from sources close to the situation that the University of Kentucky is close to offering a scholarship to 6'8 PF Matthew Pilgrim, a former member of the Hampton Pirates basketball team.
Kentucky was holding out in hopes of landing another big man, 6'10 PF Augustus Gilchrist, who reportedly was going to ask out of his committment to Maryland. But it now looks like they are going to make a move on Pilgrim who tells HoopsReport that he's "excited about the opportunity to play for the University of Kentucky."
