Jamail Jones to Marquette

By: Dustin Rumbaugh

Buzz Williams & Co. have added another wing to their 2010 collection in 6-6 Georgia product, Jamail Jones. Jones, sounding extremely excited about his decision on Sunday, said, "It was just the academics and everything that they're building right now at Marquette."

Jones joins an incoming 2010 class that also features commitments from 6-5 small forward from Wolfson High School in Florida, Aaron Bowen, and a 6-10 JUCO transfer from Hill College in Texas, Monterale Clark. This fall, Marquette will also welcome a monster 2009 class boasting top point guard, Junior Cadougan. When asked about which players Jones was most excited about hitting the hardwood with, Cadougan topped the list, as he said, "Junior Cadougan, I'm excited about him because both of us will be out on the wing together."

Academics was the other selling point for Jones, who might pursue an undergraduate pre-med degree. Pretty lofty goals for the Green Forest Christian Academy standout, but if his answering service message tells you one thing, its that Jones is all about work, as it tells the caller that if you've reached this message its because Jamail is either in the gym working on his game or in the library working on his grades. He'll have the opportunity to work on both at his new school, and that's something that Jones is very excited about.
