Breaking News: Hopson Commits!

HoopsReport.com Exclusive 4/1/2008 5:20pm: Scotty Hopson informed us just moments ago that he ended his recruitment today when he gave a verbal commitment to Coach Pearl and the University of Tennessee.  Hopson was in Knoxville on an official visit when he made the decision. 

“I got to meet with the academic advisor and I was open to the coaching staff.  It felt like it was a real good fit for me.”  Hopson said.

He also mentioned the “style of play” and the “opportunity to step in and be an impact player early with the graduation of Chris Lofton” as major reasons for choosing the Vols and called it a “family decision”. 

Hopson, a 6’5 wing from Hopkinsville, Ky. (University Heights), became the fourth player to commit to Tennessee from the class of 2008 when he joined a recruiting class that already includes Philip Jurick, Renaldo Woolridge and Daniel West.
