News » Hoops News8th grader commits to Cats!Lexington, Ky.- Michael Avery, a 6’4 8th grader from Lake Sherwood, Ca. that plays AAU ball with the Indiana Elite program, gave an early verbal commitment to Coach Gillispie and the University of Kentucky today according to sources close to the Indiana Elite program.
Coach Gillispie watched Avery play this past weekend at the King James Classic in Akron, Oh.
The Kentucky program is on a roll this week. Avery is the third player to commit to the Cats in as many days as junior college big man Josh Harrellson and Indianapolis sophomore Dominique Ferguson made their pledges on Tuesday.
