Top 100 Player Rankings We have been following the class of 2010 closely since the summer of 2005, when we covered the 13U AAU Nationals (KC Ross-Miller’s TG Adidas team won it that year). Two years have gone by since we traveled to Memphis for that event, and while a handful of the kids that were the best 13 year olds in the country at that time are still considered elite players, there are a lot of prospects that have burst on the scene over the last year to takeover top spots in the rankings.

The elite players in the class of 2009 did a good job of holding down their spots this summer. Renardo Sidney, Derrick Favors, DeMarcus Cousins, Lance Stephenson, Xavier Henry, and Kenny Boynton entered the AAU season with big reputations and although each of them (with the exception of, maybe, Derrick Favors) had their highs-and-lows, they all did enough this summer to justify their status as the elite of this class.

Seventy five players have played well enough to separate themselves from the rest of the class. The top two juniors in the country went head-to-head over the weekend at the Primetime Shootout as Brandon Jennings and Oak Hill Academy took on Tyreke Evans and American Christian. Evans won the statistical battle as he scored 23 points to Jennings’ 15, but it was Oak Hill that took home the hardware as Jennings drew a foul with the game tied at 72-all with less than half-a-second left on the clock, and nailed the second of two free throws to win the game.
