15U National Travel Team Rankings

Rob Taylor of the Buckey Prep Report has been on the travel circuit all summer and he follows the 15U teams religiously. Here is Rob's rankings of the top twenty 15U teams in the country along with key players and how they faired against some of the toughest competition.
 
 
 
 
1) Ohio Basketball Club(picuted) - Ohio (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Chane Behanan, Stevie Taylor, Jehvon Clark, Perry Henry, and Paul Honigford.
 
Notes: Current Record: 41-5. Won the Bob Gibbons TOC, Pittsburgh Jam Fest, Adidas It Takes 5ive classic. Finished second in the Buckeye Prep Invitational, All-Ohio Cup. Lost in the Elite 8 of the Spiece Run-N-Slam. Made the Sweet Sixteen at the King James Classic.
 
2) M33M (Memphis Stallions) - Memphis, Tennessee
 
Key Players: Adonis Thomas, Bobby Ray Parks, Marcus Crawford, and Joseph Northington.
 
Notes:Won the 15U AAU Nationals. Finished second at the Bob Gibbons TOC. Won the 16U division of Memphis select tournament. Won the 17U division of the Arkansas MAYB Pre-Season Classic. Won the Tennessee state AAU qualifier. Finished third in the 17U division at the Jackson MAYB tournament.
 
3) King James Shooting Stars South/Southern Kings- Atlanta, Georgia (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Key Julian Royal, Dai-jon Parker, Shannon Scott, and Tony Parker.
 
Notes: Won the select division of the Bob Gibbons TOC. Won the 16U division of the Wallace Prather Memorial tournament. Won the Generation Next National Championship tournament. Reached the Final Four at the Real Deal on the Hill. Lost to the United Celtics at the Smyrna Stars Shootout (without Jacoby Davis and Bernard Sullivan).
 
4) All-Ohio Red - Columbus, Ohio (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Treavon Jackson, Trey Burke, and JD Weatherspoon.
 
Notes: Won the Wallace Prather Memorial tournament. Won the Buckeye Prep Invitational. Won the Ohio AAU state qualifier (OBC did not participate). Finished second at the 15U AAU Nationals. Reached the Final Four at the Adidas it Takes 5ive Classic. Has won several local tournaments. Has beaten OBC twice in local tournaments. This team would be ranked higher if they had the services of JD Weatherspoon full time.
 
5) Boo Williams - Virginia (Nike)
 
Key Players:James McAdoo, Travis McKie, Justin Anderson, Lavon Harper, Larry Savage, and Brian Darden Jr.
 
Notes: Won the Boo Williams Invitational. Won the Southern Invitational. Finished second at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. Failed to get out of pool play at the Bob Gibbons TOC. Would be ranked higher if they had the services of Travis McKie full time.
 
6) Lou Williams Elite - Atlanta, Georgia
 
Key Players: Corey Blackwell
 
Notes: Won the King James Classic. Won the gold (secondary) division at the Houston Kingwood Classic. Reached the Elite 8 of the Wallace Prather Memorial tournament.
 
7) Team Florida- Florida (Nike)
 
Key Players:Deante Sanders, Jacoby Brissett, and Scottie Wilbekin.
 
Notes:Won the Houston Kingwood Classic.
 
8) Spiece Select 2011 - Indiana
 
Key Players:Torrey Nibbs, Justin Gant, Tony Springman, Zach VanDewater, and Austin Etherington.
 
Notes: Won the Spiece Run-N-Slam. Reached the Final Four at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. Beat SYF in the championship game of the Indiana AAU state qualifier.
 
9) Playaz Basketbal Club- New Jersy (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Miles Davis, Vaughn Gray, Jordan Allen, Myles Mack, Jordan Allen, and Kyle Anderson.
 
Notes:Current Record: 36-4 with only losses to DC Blue Devils, New Heights, Spiece Select 2011, and 16U DC Assault. Reached the Elite 8 of the Pittsburgh Jam Fest and the Bob Gibbon TOC. Won DC Assault classic, Philly classic, and the RI Jam Fest. Finished second in the Philly Invitational. Reached the Final Four at the 16U Spring Fling and the 15U Spring Fling.
 
10) Houston Hoops- Houston, Texas (Nike)
 
Key Players:Alex Cooper, Sheldon McClellan, Julian Lewis, and Shai Fields.
 
Notes: Won the Nike Memorial Day Classic and the Texas Spring showcase. Won the Slow Motion tournament in Dallas (16u). Lost in the Elite 8 at the Generation Next National Championship to the United Celtics.
 
11) Indiana Elite One - Indiana (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Spencer Turner, Cody Zeller, and Jonathon Marlin.
 
Notes:Reached the Final Four at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest and the Bob Gibbons Toc. Lost to Spiece Select 2011 in the Indiana AAU state qualifier. Reached the Final Four of the Adidas May Classic where they lost to Spiece Select 2011. Reached the Elite 8 at the Run-N-Slam. There key player, Marshall Plumlee, has been injured.
 
12) Team Phenom/RBK All-Stars - Philadelphis, Pennsylvania (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Aaron Brown, Devin Coleman, Jaylen Bond, Juy'na Green, and Joey Gripper.
 
Notes:Finished second at the Team Kobe Classic (16u) and the Coaches vs. Cancer (16u). Finished second to Boo Williams at the Southern Invitational.
 
13) Spiece Indy Heat- Indianapolis, Indiana (Nike)
 
Key Players:Marquise Teague, P.J. Boutte, Evan Blackman, and Chandler Thomas.
 
Notes: Won the Real Deal on the Hill. Finished second at the King James Classic. Won the round robin tournament in Chicago. Has competed well against older teams at the 16u level. This team is now without the players from Indy Fast Break, Ryan Taylor, and Michael Brom.
 
14) New Heights- New York
 
Key Players: Jermaine Sanders, Corey Edwards, and Shamell Williams.
 
Notes: Won the Providence Jam Fest. Has finished high in several local and regional tournaments.
 
15) United Celtics - Charlotte, North Carolina (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Marquis Rankin, Jacoby Davis, and Keith Bellfield.
 
Notes:Finished in the Final Four at the Bob Gibbons TOC. Finished second at the Generation Next National Championship Tournament. Beat the Southern Kings at the Smyrna Stars Shootout (without Jacoby Davis and Bernard Sullivan).
 
16) Peoria Carver- Illinois
 
Key Players:Donovine Stewart
 
Notes:Finished second at the Real Deal on the Hill. Reached the Final Four of the Spiece Run-N-Slam and has placed in several major tournaments.
 
17) Michigan Mustangs- Detroit, Michigan (Adidas)
 
Key Players:Brandon Kearney, Percy Gibson, and LaDonte Hinton.
 
Notes:Finished second at the Adidas it takes 5ive Classic. Reached the championship game of the King James Classic (silver division).
 
18) Team Indiana/Indiana Elite- Bloomington, Indiana (Adidas)
 
Key Players: Deng Leek, Vinny Zollo, Jeremiah Davis, Jordan Shanklin, Timmy Knipp, Darwin Davis, Hanner Perea, and Michael Avery.
 
Notes: Reached the Elite 8 at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. Lost in the semi-finals of the Indiana AAU state qualifier. Won the Indyball.com tournament. Reached the Elite 8 of the King James Shooting Stars Classic (lost to M33M).
 
19) Indy Fastbreak- Indianapolis, Indiana
 
Key Players:Ryan Taylor, Michael Chandler, Kenny Enoch, and Michael Brom.
 
Notes:Won the Kentucky HoopsFest.
 
20) All-Iowa Attack- Iowa (Adidas)
 
Key Players: Unknown
