Reebok Championships Live! Update
Las Vegas, NV- Team Breakdown led Belmont Shore by three points with 6.6 seconds on the clock in the Reebok Championships title game. Belmont Shore would inbound the ball to Brandon Jennings who drove the length of the court and hit a step-back 25-foot contested trifecta to send the game into overtime. Belmont Shore would go on to win the game 78-73.
Jennings said after the game that the three he hit to send the game into overtime was “definitely one of the biggest shots I ever made”.
The Arizona-bound point guard became the first player in the history of the tournament (previously called Big Time) to win championships with two different teams. Last year, Jennings was a member of the SoCal All-Stars that went undefeated all summer long.
Leonard Washington was also instrumental in Belmont Shore’s comeback. The 6’6 bruiser was unstoppable late in the game and he did a good job defending Eloy Vargas in the second half.
Eloy Vargas and Kenny Boynton both had big games for Team Breakdown in the runner-up effort.
