N. Augusta, SC- The New York Gauchos swept both divisions of the Peach Jam. Seton Hall-commit Jordan Theodore (pictured) took over in the semis, while Chris Fouch was the hero in the championship game.
17 and Under Quarterfinals Results
New York Gauchos- 71
Mean Streets- 66
In a classic New York-Chicago battle, the team from New York won the bragging rights for their city as their backcourt duo of 5’11 Kemba Walker (UConn-commit) and 5’11 Jordan Theodore (Seton Hall-commit) proved to be the difference.
Georgia Blazers- 56
Metro Hawks- 54
6’10 Xavier Gibson and 6’4 Jarvis Jones (2009) combined for 22 points to lead the Blazers to a hard fought, 56-54, victory over the Metro Hawks. The Hawks were playing without their star big man, 6’9 Samardo Samuels (Louisville), who bruised his knee in an earlier game, but they got solid production from 5’10 Louisville-commit Lamont Jones (2009) who scored a game-high 21 points and 6’3 Dexter Strickland (2009) who finished with 11.
Georgia Stars-65
Team Texas- 58
Team Texas led midway through the second half, but the Georgia Stars ended the game on a 16-8 run to advance to the semis. The Stars were led by 6’8 big-body Darius Morrow and 6’10 Tony Woods (Wake Forest-commit) who combined for 28 points. 6’7 Wesley Witherspoon was unstoppable slashing to the hoop for the winners and finished with 11 points while 6'8 Al-Farouq Aminu (Wake Forest) chipped in with 8. Team Texas got a strong effort from 6’3 Willie Warren who led all scorers with 25 points and 6’0 KC Ross-Miller (2010) who did an outstanding job defensively.

Boo Williams- 51
Boo Williams’ 6’1 phenom Kendall Marshall (2010) had another excellent performance scoring 18 points and hitting a big shot late in overtime, but The Family’s 6’3 Paul Williams connected on a pair of free-throws with less than two seconds left in overtime to lift his team the one point victory.
17 and Under Semifinals Results
New York Gauchos- 72
Georgia Blazers- 60
This game was a rematch of the Nike Memorial Day Classic championship game that the Georgia Blazers won 63-61.
After trading baskets for most of the early going, the Gauchos founds themselves in the lead with under a minute left in the first half, but 5’9 Andre Young scored five-straight points to close the period that gave the Blazers a 34-30 edge at the break.
The Blazers extended their lead to six points at 40-34 on a dunk by 6’10 Xavier Gibson, but that’s when the Gauchos’ 5’11 Jordan Theodore took over. Theodore scored 11 points, including six straight, to spark an 18-5 run for his team. The Gauchos never looked back as they went on to win the game 72-60.
The winners were led by Theodore and 6’2 Darryl Bryant who combined for 36 points. 5’9 Andre Young scored 16 points and Xavier Gibson scored 11 for the Georgia Blazers.
The Family- 52
Georgia Stars- 44
The Family jumped out to a commanding 25-6 lead to start the game behind a strong early going from 6’3 Paul Williams and 6’11 Deshonte Riley (2009), but the Georgia Stars ended the first half on a 15-7 run of their own to get back in the game. At halftime The Family led 32-21.
6’8 Al-Farouq Aminu (Georgia Stars) scored 10 points early in the second half to help his team to even terms at 41-All with under six minutes to go in the game, but The Family outscored the Georgia Stars 11-3 to end the game and advanced to the championship.
Paul Williams led all scorers with 22 points. Al-Farouq Aminu and 6’5 Kevin Murphy (four 3-pointers) each scored 12 points for the Georgia Stars.

The Family- 68
The championship game of the Peach Jam lived up to title game expectations as the contest went into overtime and was decided on a last second 3-pointer by 6’1 Chris Fouch that gave the Gauchos a 70-68 victory. Fouch scored 15 points and 6’2 Darryl Bryant scored 16 for the champs. The Family’s 6’3 Paul Williams continued his strong event with 22 points.
The New York Gauchos also won the 16 and Under division to sweep both championships.
