Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp
By: Rob Taylor
For the first time in three years, the Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp was held in Chicago, IL instead of it's original home in Indianapolis, IN. Although small in numbers (about 60 players), the two day camp was full of talent.
Unlike the All-South camp, which was more dominated by wings and bigs, guard play was superior in this camp. The camp attracted some of the top guards in the Midwest and created some very intriguing match-ups.
In addition to the guards who arrived in Chicago with pre-established national reputations, there were a handful of floor generals who announced themselves to the national scouts in attendance. Stevie Taylor, Tracy Abrams, Ryan Boatright, George Marshall, and PJ Boutte were a few of the guards whom were already fixtures on the national scene, but guys like Charles Lee from Wisconsin, Travis Trice from Ohio, and Chris Harrison from Kentucky made some serious noise of their own.,
Although the guard play was top notch, there were some standout post play performances as well. Paris Michael Chandler from Indianapolis was dominate at times and capped of a solid camp with an impressive all-star game performance on his way to all-star game MVP honors.
