Nike EYBL Session IV/Day 1 RECAP

By: Hoopsreport Staff

OAKLAND, CA-As teams jocked for final position to get a bid into Nike's EYBL Finals as things began to unfold quick, fast and in a hurry. Check out Hoopsreport's SPECIAL EDITION coverage of this year's Nike EYBL Session IV.

MAC IRVIN (IL) 77 CALIFORNIA SUPREME (CA) 65
In a HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MATCH UP the MAC IRVIN FIRE led by Hoopsreport's #1 prospect in the 2013 6'7 (W/G) Jabari Parker's 20pts 6rebs and 2 blocks OUTLASTED a very strong CAL SUPREME squad by the score of 77-65. MAC IRVIN FIRE got plenty of help from it's supporting cast in class of 2013, 6'5 (W) Billy Garrett Jr's 15pts and 4 assist, Hoopsreport's #1 prospect in the class of 2014 6'10 (F) Jahlil Okafor scored 12pts and grabbed 7rebs and class of 2013, 6'8 (W/F) Russell Woods tossed in 10pts and grabbed 2rebs while CAL SUPREME was led by NEWLY AQUIRED 6'5 (PG) Nigel-Williams Goss who is currently ranked #75 in Hoopsreport's class of 2013 National Player Rankings scored 15pts 6rebs and 6 assist class of 2013, 6'3 (G) Jordan Matthews scored 13pts 2rebs and 2 assist and Hoopsreport's #111 rated prospect in the class of 2013 6'8 (PF) Torran Jones scored 12pts and grabbed 6 rebs in the loss.

DECIDING FACTOR(S) IN THE MAC IRVIN/CAL SUPREME MATCH UP.
When class of 2014 TOP PROSPECT 5'9 (PG) Parker Jackson-Cartwright has big games, CAL SUPREME WINS, when he doesn't they lose so it's obvious that CAL SUPREME will only go as far as Parker Jackson-Cartwright can take them. As far as the MAC IRVIN FIRE goes, it will be very tough to keep them from going very far in this year's Nike EYBL Finals as long as TOP PROSPECT 6'7 (W/G) Jabari Parker is on the floor.

WISCONSIN PLAYGROUND (WI) 61 TEAM FINAL (PA) 68
The WISCONSIN PLAYGROUND WARRIORS who need every win they can get in order to stay in the hunt for the EYBL Finals, suffered a very important loss to TEAM FINAL 68-61. For TEAM FINAL it was class of 2013, 6'6 (F) Davon Reed who led the way with 19pts 5 rebs and 4 assist and class of 2013, 6'7 (F) Rhondae Jefferson scored 17pts 3 rebs and 3 assist while class of 2013, 6'3 (G) Duane Wilson Jr. Led the way for the WISCONSIN PLAY GROUND WARRIORS with 19pts 6 assist and 4rebs and class of 2013, 6'3 (G) Austin Malone-Mitchell scored 13pts 3 Dimes and 3rebs in the losing effort.

HOUSTON HOOPS (TX) 60 OAKLAND SOLDIERS (CA) 68
In Oakland Soldier's quest to get into the EYBL Finals defeating the Houston Hoops was pretty much a MUST which they did by the score of 68-60. Hoopsreport's #13 rated prospect in the class of 2014 6'5 (W/G) Stanley Johnson's led the way with 22pts 12rebs and 2 assist and Tyree Robinson scored 14pts dished out 3 assist and grabbed 2 boards while HOUSTON HOOPS were led by class of 2013, 6'7 (F) Derrick Griffin's 19pts and 9 boards and Robert Hatter dropped 14pts in a losing effort.

MEAN STREETS (IL) 66 CIA BOUNCE (CAN) 49
In a game that most had ASSUMED would end up in a CIA BOUNCE victory was nothing of the sort as MEAN STREETS was not having any of that as they went on to not only defeat the TOP TEAM IN THE EYBL, they DOMINATED THEM by the score of 66-49. Hoopsreport's #63 rated prospect in the class of 2013, 6'3 (G) Kendrick Nunn led the way for MEANSTREETS droppin 24pts and grabbing 7rebs and class of 2013, 6'6 (F) Jubril Adekoya who netted 13pts and grabbed 7 rebs while CIA BOUNCE was led by Hoopsreport's #2 prospect in the class of 2014, 6'8 (W/F) Andrew Wiggins 17pts and 2 rebs.

VETERANS MUST CONTINUE TO PLAY BIG IN ORDER FOR CIA BOUNCE TO CONTINUE ITS DOMINANCE
Xavier Rathan Mayes, Duane Notice, Tanveer Bhullar and Tyler Ennis combined for 20pts, in order for CIA BOUNCE to remain as the top team in the EYBL they MUST get better performances out of their veterans.
