Next Level Top 24 Shows Off Florida's Talent

By: Dustin Rumbaugh

Florida’s finest recently gathered together to take part in the Next Level Top 24 in Orlando. The event took place in Wekiva High School this past Saturday. Many of the nation’s top prospects showed up and showed off their games.

Amongst them was Jelani Hewitt, a 6-2 guard from Northeast High School, who poured in a game-high 29 points while leading his Team Deliver over Team Elevate 117-104.

“When I got in the rhythm, my teammates started feeding me the ball,’’ Hewitt told the Miami Herald. “Once I get aggressive, I stay aggressive.”

After scoring the game-high, Hewitt was, of course, awarded the MVP honors, but Team Deliver may not have pulled out the win if not for the down low presence of Patric Young. Young, a 6-8 forward who will play his college ball with the University of Florida, stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.

Dwight Powell and Austin Rivers also helped out Team Deliver by scoring 12 and 13 points, respectively.

Khyle Marshall led Team Elevate in scoring with 19, and was closely followed by Stacey Poole’s 18.
