Montverde Academy vs. Boca Raton

Ft. Myers, Fla.-Montverde Academy, the 4th ranked team in the country (USA Today), needed overtime to survive a meeting with state-rival (Florida) Boca Raton this evening in a Sunshine Series game at the City of Palms Classic.

Boca Raton came back from a double-digit deficit behind the outside shooting of John Peterson to tie the game at 45-all and force overtime.  Overtime was all Montverde, however, as they went on a 12-1 run to open the extra period and regain control of the game.  The final score was Montverde 61, Boca Raton 49.

The winners were led by Texas A&M-bound Dashan Harris’ 18 points and four assists.
