Marshall County Hoopfest

Draffenville, Ky-Our coverage of what is shaping up to be the premiere high school basketball showcase in the country begins later today when  we travel to Benton, Kentucky for the Marshall County Hoopfest.

Alumni of the Hoopfest include Carmelo Anthony, Shaun Livingston, Josh Smith, Monta Ellis, Rajon Rondo, Brandan Wright, Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, Thaddeus Young, and Tyler Hansbrough among hundreds of other players that went on to play at the college and pro levels. 

Five teams in the HoopsReport.com National High School Top 25 will play this weekend including #1 Oak Hill Academy, #9 Wheeler, #20 Whitney Young, #23 Briarcrest Christian and #24 Hales Franciscan.  Top individual talent includes the nation’s top ranked senior, Brandon Jennings, in addition to dozens of other players ranked top 100 in their class. 

On Thursday, December 13th, one of the most important games of the season will be played when the nation’s #1 ranked team Oak Hill Academy takes on #2 St. Benedict’s Prep in the Showcase game that will be televised nationally on ESPN.
