Kentucky's Interest in Harris Picking Up

By: Brett Blevins
Today while watching Tobias Harris's younger brother Tyler, I got a chance to catch up with their father Torrel Harris. Alongside Kentuckysportsradio.com's Dustin Rumbaugh the talk turned to Kentucky.
Mr. Harris informed us that Kentucky has really turned up the interest within the past 10-14 days, and he and his son are interested to see where Tobias may fit in with the Wildcats. Mr. Harris has long known UK assistant coach Rod Strickland, but even without the pre-existing relationship the family would definitely look into Tobias wearing the Big Blue.
"When Kentucky calls, you have to take notice. I mean it's Kentucky with all the tradition," Mr. Harris explained.
We also visited with Mr. Harris about his own playing days at Duquesne and Murray St. Playing in Kentucky gave Mr. Harris an understanding and appreciation for Kentucky basketball and the passionate fanbase.
After the summer Tobias, along with his father, will investigate the interest that the Kentucky staff has in him, and will try to figure out where he might fit in. When I asked about Tobias fitting into the Dribble Drive Motion, Mr. Harris said it would take some more time to see.
Harris is a face-up 4-man that is very skilled and talented away from the basket. This week he even ran the point for his Albany City Rocks squad. We absolutely love the matchup problem he presents to opposing defenses. He continues to get physically stronger as well, and has impressed Hoopsreport.com staff every time we've watched him this spring/summer. He is a very humble kid that should transition well to the next level. We hope to follow-up and see how his visits go after the July period is over.
