Fifth Third Bank Holiday Classic

Lexington, Ky- Darius Miller’s Mason County squad is the team to beat in this year’s edition of the Fifth Third Bank Holiday Classic in Lexington, Ky.

The Fifth Third Bank Holiday Classic has been one of the top post-Christmas tournaments in the country over the last decade.  Alumni of this event include Elton Brand (Duke-NBA), Julius Hodge (North Carolina St.-NBA), Chris Lofton (Tennessee), Taurean Green (Florida), and hundreds of other players that have gone on to play Division 1 college ball.

This year the tournament will showcase a number of future-stars once again.  Mason County has a roster full of outstanding college prospects and at the top of that list is their 6-6 junior Darius Miller, who is a top-30 player nationally in his class.  Louisville Doss is led by Penn St.-bound Jeff Brooks, and Clark Co.’s Preston Knowles may be Kentucky’s top unsigned senior.  This event has proven to be a breeding ground for sleepers as well (Julius Hodge had his coming out party here in 1999), so we expect to see some outstanding talent that no one knows about on a national scale.
