Jordan Hamilton earns Hoops Report’s National College Player of the Week.

By: Jeff Meadows

The University of Texas Jordan Hamilton has played at a high level all season but as of late, Jordan has been on an offensive & defensive tare, so much in fact that Hoops Report has named Jordan Hamilton national college player of the week. Just 3 weeks ago, Texas wasn’t even ranked in the top 25 but after a 7 game win streak with big wins over big wins over Kansa, Texas A&M (twice), Oklahoma, Oklahoma St. & Missouri, Texas is now ranked #3 in the AP poll. Jordan, the 6’7 G/F is currently averaging 19.2 and 7.4 rebounds per game and has led his Texas squad to a 19-3 record thus far this season. Jordan’s stats from last year has increased semi dramatically from 10 pts to 17 and rebounds 3 to 7 per outing and coming out of HS Jordan averaged 26 pts, 14 rebounds per outing for national perennial power Compton Centennial, (Compton, CA) where Jordan was also named to the McDonald’s All-American team, playing in the nation’s top HS basketball All-Star Game, the McDonald’s All-American Game. Jordan is a carbon copy of his teammate from last year (Damian James) but the difference is, is that Jordan is more aggressive on the offensive end. As James continues his quest to win National Player of the Year, look for the Texas Longhorns to go deep into March and maybe even April.
