Raleigh, NC- Top Ranked Syracuse Orange took their show on the road to face an unranked NC St. team that was more than capable of knocking off the top ranked Orange. Behind the great play of (G) Dion Waiters, (G) Scoop Jardine and (F) Kris Joseph the Orange lead by as many as 17 points, went into the half with a 14 point, 47-33 lead. While the 2nd half was much like the 1st, NC St. did make a couple of runs behind the play of (G) C.J. Williams, (F) C.J. Leslie and (F) Richard Howell but in the end, it was Dion Waiters, Scoop Jardine, Kris Joseph and the Syracuse Orange cruising to a 16 point, 88-72 win over the Wolf Pack of NC St. to remain #1 and unbeaten.

Columbus, OH- #2 ranked Ohio St. took on took on a very eager and high energy South Carolina team that made a go of things and when NCAA national Player of the Year candidate Jarred Sullinger injured his left foot and had to leave the game, South Carolina’s (G) Malik Cooke and (G) Anthony Gill lead the charge as the Gamecocks would own a 4 point, 33-29 half time lead over the #2 Buckeyes. In the 2nd half led by (F) Deshaun Thomas and (G) William Bufford the Ohio St. Buckeyes would take control of the game and pull out an 8 point, 74-66 victory.

Lexington, KY- In the 1st half Kentucky’s (G) Daron Lamb would come up big and lead the charge as the #3 ranked Wildcats took control of things early and would go into the half with a 39-22 lead. Early in the 2nd half led by Drazen Zloveric and Ricky Taylor, Chattanooga would go on 6 point run but it wasn’t enough as “Fabulous Freshmen” (F) Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and multi-skilled (F) Anthony Davis raised their level of play as the Wildcats would go on to win in convincing fashion 87-62.

Louisville, KY- In what was projected to be a tough, cross-state match-up ended up being exactly that as Memphis (G) Will Barton caught fire but Louisville made surge of their own, led by (G) Russ Smith the Cardinals would go into the half with a 10 point, 42-32 half time lead. In the 2nd half Memphis (G’s) Joe Jackson and Chris Crawford would guide the Tigers in a direction that looked as if Memphis could possibly take the lead but (G) Peyton Siva and (C) Gorgiu Deng, Louisville would hold on and come away with an 8 point, 95-87 victory over cross-state rival Memphis.

Chapel Hill, NC- After sliding in the ranks a couple of spots, the #6 ranked Tar Heels took on Appalachain St. and in the 1st half it was all about the Tar Heels as (F) John Henson would the way as UNC would go into the half with a commanding 16 point, 38-22 lead. The 2nd half wasny much different than the 1st in fact, it was almost identical as (F) Tyler Zeller would get going and lead the Tar Heels to a convincing 15 point, 97-82 win.

Provo, UT- In an action packed game, the #7 ranked Baylor Bears, whom was down 13 in first half, came back to pull out a hard fought 86-83 victory of a very good BYU team. The first half belonged to UCLA transfer (G) Matt Carlino, (F) Brandon Davies and the BYU Cougars as they jumped out to an early 13 point lead, but behind the sharp shooting from (G) Brady Heslip and solid all-around play by 6’11 "Super Sophomore" (F) Perry Jones III the Baylor Bears were able to cut the lead down to 4 as BYU would go into the half with a 42-38 lead. The 2nd half belonged to Pierre Jackson, Brady Heslip, Perry Jones III and the rest of the Baylor Bears as they would turn the tables and at one point take a 9 point 79-70 lead late in the second half but BYU would scrap their way back behind the solid play of (G/F) Charles Abouo to cut the lead down to 1, 79-78. With seconds remaining (F) Brandon Davies attempted what he thought was a wide open three but out of know where came (F) Perry Jones III to block Davies 3 pt attempt as time expired to give Baylor an 86-83 victory.
