Summer Sizzle 4th of July Holiday Tournament JV & VARSITY DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP

JV DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: Las Vegas Dogcatchers vs AZ Pharaohs
Las Vegas Dogcatchers were very impressive on their way to the JV Division Championship going 3-0 with wins over AZ Swoops (44-35), Pharaohs 16U (47-35) and a semi final win over True Ballers Flagstaff 58-46. Pharaohs (4-0) also was very impressive while on their way to the JV Division Championship with wins over AZ All-Stars (63-52), AZ Mustangs (52-40) and a quarter finals the Pharaohs WHIPPED the CV Warriors 59-28 and in the semi finals the Pharaohs defeated their brother team, the Pharaohs 16U, 64-44.
WHO WILL WIN THE JV DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP?
The first half was close for the most part throughout the first half that was until the Las Vegas Dogcathers 16U got things going just enough to give themselves a 7 point, 37-30 lead going into the half.
DOGCATCHERS DOMINATE SECOND HALF, CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Las Vegas Dogcatchers opened the second half with a 5 and a 7 point run to pretty much STABELIZE the Pharaohs throughout the rest of the way as the Dogcatchers would to defeat the Pharaohs and to take home the “Summer Sizzle” JV Division Championship in VERY CONVENCING FASHION 70-50.
VARSITY DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP PREGAME: Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite vs. Team Emphisis Elite
The “Summer Sizzle’s” Varsity Division Championship was a game that could go either way with both the Las Vegas Dogcatchers and Team Emphisis being LOADED with some very good prospects. Team Emphisis led by the ATHLETIC 6’3 (CG) Lawrence Peirce and the TOWERING (C) 6’9 Stephan Hadely while Las Vegas Dogcatchers are led by 6’8 SUPER ATHLETIC DUNKER Darren Smith and 6’5 UTILITY MAN Caleb Carter.
LAS VEGAS DOGCATCHERS AND TEAM EMPHISIS ROADS TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite and Team Emphisis road to the championship consisted of a few blow out wins as well as some close games. Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite’s road to the championship include a close, 5 point, 49-44 win over Jalyn Brown, Isaac Allen and Joe Ward All-Stars and a CONVENCING 18 point, 71-53 win. The Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite captured another ONE SIDED 18 point, 71-53 victory over the West Side Swoosh and in the semi finals the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite was an inch away from falling victims to class of 2014 STAND OUT (PG) Kodi Justice and the Pharaohs by ESCAPING with a 5 point, 59-54 victory. Team Emphisis road to the championship includes a 14 point, 46-32 win over the Pharaohs Elite then Team Emphisis CRANKED OUT yet another DOUBLE DIGIT, 14 point victory defeating the West Side Swoosh 50-36. Then Team Emphisis took Team AZ Stars BEHIND THE WOODSHED and STRONG ARMED a 40 point, 54-14 SHRUBBING and in the semi finals Team Emphisis faced a game NM Select team who also fell victim losing to Team Emphisis by 20, 56-36.
THE GAME
This game was fairly tight until late in the first half when Las Vegas Elite’s Darren Smith caught an ally up from teammate Caleb Carter and was fouled, Smith made the free throw giving the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite a 18-14 lead and the very next possession, the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite’s 6’8 (F) Michael Lauder nailed a deep three pushing their lead to 21-14 as the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite would go into the half with a 5 point, 24-19 lead.
CAN THE LAS VEGAS DOGCATCHERS ELITE MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE GAME?
To start the second half the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite went on a 5-0 run and shortly after went on 7-0run to extend their lead to a 17 point, 36-19 lead. Midway the through the second half Team Emphisis went on a run of their own led by 6’3 (CG) Lawrence Peirce which cut the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite’s lead to 36-27 but that’s as close as Darren Smith, Caleb Cater and the rest of the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite would allow them to get as the Las Vegas Dogcatchers Elite would go on to win the game and the“Summer Sizzle” 4th of July Holiday Tournament Varsity Division Championship.
