Arizona preseason senior all-state teams

By: Jeff Meadows

Preseason Senior All-State Teams (top 30 SR’s)

This year’s preseason senior first team all-state has four players that were first team all-state regardless of class the only player that was not first team all-state regardless of class is Brandon Burnett the 6’6 CG out of Tucson’s Cienaga H.S. who is a preseason second team all-state regardless of class selection. Burnett who has already had a few HUGE games thus far include a 29 pts 14 rebs and 6 assist performance in a 66-61 losing effort to Royce Woolridge and the Sunnyslope Vikings. Burnett is a BIG TIME player and at 6'6 220lbs CG Burnett has all of the physical attributes along with high character young man, Burnett will surely make his presence felt at the next level. Burnett is an underrated player that is still unsigned at the moment but I’m pretty sure that’s not going to be for long. Next up is the very talented W/G out of Phoenix St. Mary's George Matthews. Matthews is a very talented, well rounded player who’s oosing with game. Matthews is receiving serious interest from Utah, UNLV, Fresno St., UCONN, Cal, Miami. Last year’s Arizona player of the year Royce Woolridge is a scoring machine that has the knack for setting up defenders with moves that often require counter moves. A lot of eyes will be on Woolridge this season to see if he will have back to back MVP seasons. Next up is a player that goes very hard on each and every play, combine that with extreme athleticism and a very consistent 3pt shot and you have Daniel Bajerano. Bajerano has been at the top of the 2010 class for a few years now. After committing to the University of Texas in the fall of his Jr year Bajerano had a change of heart and decided that he’d be best suited to play for Coach Sean Miller and the University of Arizona. Look for Beajerano to have a pretty big season. My choice for this year's preseason player of the year is Corey Hawkins "picture above" out of Goodyear's Estrella Foothills. Hawkins is a 6'3 prime time scoring CG that loves to have the ball in his hands as much as possible. Hawkins will make a big push for player of the year regardless of class throughout the season. Here is the Arizona preseason senior all-state teams, enjoy!
