Arizona’s class of 2012 "PLAYER SPOLIGHT"
Kicking things off for Arizona’s class of 2012 is 6’10 ATHLETICALLY INCLINED (F) Kenney Martin out of Chaparral HS. Kenny has played his way into the top spot of Arizona’s class of 2012 by performing extremely well all this past spring and summer. Martin is ranked #134 in Hoopsreport’s 2012 National Player Rankings and will be attending Arizona State next fall. Next up is a new comer to the EXCLUSIVE 5, Eric Jacobsen (who like Martin) had a big spring and summer, leading his AZ Magic AAU team to a top 25 ranking in Hoopsreport’s AAU 17U National Rankings along with drawing the attention of top national scouts and college coaches. Jacobsen is a 6’9 (F) who is very skilled and has a very good feel for the game. Jacobsen is ranked #156 in Hoopsreport’s 2012 National Player Rankings and will be attending Arizona State next fall as well. Next up is the 6’1 (PG) Calaen Robinson out of Corona Del Sol. Calaen is an ATHLETIC, LONG and WIRY (G) who possess lots of offensive tools and has shown at times that he has the potential to be an elite level player. Calaen will also be attending Arizona State University next fall. 5’10 (PG) Dewayne Russell out of Peoria HS has been playing well as of late, well enough to get the attention of top regional scouts. Russell is a QUICK, FAST and HEADY (PG) who’s ability to create off the dribble has made him a commodity for college coaches that are in need of a quality (PG). Rounding out the 2012 class is none other than 6’1 (PG) Demitrius Balark out of Kellis. Balark (who was once considered the top prospect in Arizona’s 2012 class), has maintained his top 5 position. Balark led his Kellis team to a state championship last year and is looking to lead his team to the play-offs once again but championship aspirations may be out of reach as their top inside presence (Kenny Martin) transferred to Chaparral in the off season.
Arizona’s class of 2013 "PLAYER SPOTLIGHT"
Starting things off for Arizona’s VERY TALENTED class of 2013 is none other than the 6’5 SUPER ATHLETIC (PG) Jaron Hopkins out of Basha HS. Jaron has been a top 5 player in Arizona’s 2013 class but now, Jaron is the consensus #1 player in Arizona’s 2013 class. Jaron is an ELITE LEVEL (G) who has shown and proved by way of his performances stemming from last fall until now. Look for Jaron to sign a HIGH MAJOR SCHOLARSHIP sometime in the near future. Jaron is ranked #64 in Hoopsreport’s 2013 National Player Rankings. Next up is a young TOP PROSPECT that burst on to the scene at the end of last spring and has not looked back; yes I’m talking about the 6’6 ULTRA ATHLETIC (W) Paul Watson out of Paradise Valley HS. Watson (while playing for the Compton Magic last spring & summer) played well enough to make Hoopsreport’s class of 2013 National Player rankings and is currently ranked #72. Watson has gotten the attention of a vast majority of the HIGH MAJOR PROGRAMS and sure to sign a HIGH MAJOR SCHOLARSHIP in the near future. Next up is 6’8 ATHLETICALLY and PHYSICALLY INCLINED, PAINT DOMINATING Torran Jones out of Basha HS. Once you sit and watch Jones play, his PHYSICAL ABILITIES ATTRIBUTES are obvious and his work ethic is unmatched. Jones is RELENTLESS on both ends of the floor and usually creates match-up problem for opponents due to his unusual speed for a guy his size. Jones is ranked #87 in Hoopsreport’s 2013 National Player Rankings. Next up is 6’9 (PF) out of Basha HS Maurice Kirby. Kirby had a SUB-PAR spring and summer which is why he’s looking forward to having a solid winter, spring and summer but in order for Kirby to achieve those goals he MUST become a SERIOUS PRESENCE on BOTH the OFFENSE and DEFENSIVE ENDS. Maurice is currently as ranked #126 in Hoopsreport's 2013 National Player Rankings. Last and definitely not least is the 6’5 (W/F) Drew Bender out Pinnacle HS. Drew had a magnificent season last year and also had a descent spring and summer. I look for Drew to have another very productive HS season but as far as the spring and summer goes, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
