Arizona preseason all-state teams

By: Jeff Meadows

Excellent guards and very good wings describe the Arizona first team all-state. This year’s first team is senior dominated and guarantees that all five players have received or will be receiving high major D1 scholarships. Starting with the forwards/wings George Matthews is a very talented, well rounded player who’s loaded with talent, Matthews is receiving serious interest from Utah, UNLV, Fresno St., UCONN, Cal, Miami. Next up is a player that goes very hard on each and every play, combine that with extreme athleticism and a very consistent 3pt shot and you have Daniel Bajerano. Bajerano has been at the top of the 2010 class for a few years now. After committing to the University of Texas in the fall of his Jr year Bajerano had a change of heart and decided that he’d be best suited to play for Coach Sean Miller and the University of Arizona. Corey Hawkins the 6’3 CG is a serious baller who has never met a shot he didn’t like but the thing is he doesn’t miss very often. Last year’s Arizona player of the year Royce Woolridge is a scoring machine that has the knack for setting up defenders with moves that often require counter moves. And last but definitely not least is Jahii Carson "picture above" my choice for this year’s Arizona high school basketball Player of the Year. Carson is the only under classmen on the first team but he is as good as any guard in the country. Carson has a 44 inch vertical, he’s lightning quick, super fast and has an unbelievable handle, expect great things in the future for this young man. Here are the Arizona high school basketball all-state teams, enjoy!
