Arizona Preseason All-State Teams

On Jan 7 Jeff Meadows of www.azhoopsreport.com will be posting the Arizona high school preseason all-state teams so be sure to log on to get an extensive look at who the current top players are in the state of Arizona. There will be a listing of the top 30-50 players in each class/grade.

Who will be the Arizona preseason high school player of the year?

The question that has been asked quite often throughout the state/country is who will be this year’s high school player of the year? This year there are four legitimate candidates: Jahii Carson, Corey Hawkins, Royce Woolridge, Daniel Bajerano & George Matthews. Will it be the lightening quick, super fast and ultra athletic (44 inch vert), amazing ball handler Jahii Carson the 5’10 JR (PG) out of Mesa H.S. (Mesa) who has already verbally committed to the Oregon State Beavers or will it be the 6’3 SR (CG) Corie Hawkins out of Astrella Foothills in Goodyear, AZ. Corie is the son of former NBA star Hersey Hawkins. Corie has an incredible basketball I.Q. he's also the states best shooter by far, big, strong and deceptively quick and is a top notch scorer. Hawkins like the others has also signed a letter of intent to play for Coach Herb Scendek and the Arizona State Sun Devils or will it be the 6’3 SR (CG) Royce Woolridge out of Sunnyslope H.S. in Phoenix who has been committed to Coach Bill Self and the University of Kansas since his sophomore year. Royce, the son of Orlando Woolridge the former NBA star is a sharp shooting scoring machine with lots of moves and counter moves or will it be Daniel Bajerano the 6’5 SR super athletic, 3pt shooting (W) out of North H.S. in Phoenix. Bajerano had verbally committed to the University of Texas but later recanted and signed with the University of Arizona or will it be George Matthews the 6’7 SR swingman out of Phoenix’s St. Mary’s who has produced such stars as: Channing Frye (U of A/Phoenix Suns) and Jarred Bayless (U of A/Portland Trailblazers). Matthews can do it all from shooting the deep 3 ball or getting it done inside.

Be sure to log on Jan 7 to see Arizona’s finest high school players.
